Gómez Noya is already in New Zealand

After having made two long stays in Fuerteventura in December and January - what could be called the "base camp" of the assault on the 2014 summit - Javi Gómez Noya has settled in Wanaka (South Island of New Zealand) to continue with his preparation of face the World Series.

The almost two months he will spend there could be considered as the attack field to the top, since he is making intense sessions to reach the first championship meeting (Auckland, 6 in April) in order to achieve victory, something that is already got in the kiwi capital in 2012 and 2013: "Wanaka seems to me an ideal place for these dates because it meets all the conditions that are needed to train at the highest level. Good covered facilities with pool and gym; for the bike little busy roads with mountain passes nearby; and many paths and an 400m grass running track so you can run fast without touching the asphalt. In addition to a climate very similar to that of Galicia in summer and an environment of spectacular naturer ".

Javi will compete in New Plymouth (North Island of New Zealand) the March 23 in a sprint distance triathlon

As in Fuerteventura, he is supported by his coach Carlos David Prieto, his partner, also an elite triathlete, the German Ricarda Lisk and a group of triathletes, above all friends, who help him to make the sessions demanding and that at the same time reign a good atmosphere, something important to cope with being so far from home: Francesc Godoy, Jesús Gomar, Pablo Dapena and the South African Henri Schoeman: “For now everything is going according to plan; Since I started the season in December I have been able to train with continuity, without setbacks or injuries. This makes me in good shape for this time, being aware that the season is very long and we are still building the necessary base to be able to support several months of competition at the highest level. Now I have several weeks of hard work ahead and I hope to arrive at the Auckland meeting in conditions to be fighting with the best since the main objective of the year is once again the World Seriess"

But before that Javi will compete in New Plymouth (North Island of New Zealand) The March 23 in a sprint distance triathlon (half of the Olympic) scoring for the World Cup, the test circuit below the World Series: "It will help me to get rhythm and feelings of competition as well as to evaluate my fitness. I will do that within the cycle of maximum training load and will be after him when he starts the set-up to perform at the top of Auckland".
