Seville, new ICAN headquarters for the 2014

Sevilla it will be a new test scenario ICAN next year. The Andalusian capital will host this international triathlon competition the 5 October 2014, within the distance called Half, and with the Guadalquivir River and the historic center of the city of Seville as the setting for the event.

This event has been possible thanks to the Seville City Council, through its Department of Tourism, and the Tierra de Hombres Foundation, which aims, "through action, to promote the development of the most disadvantaged children by defending their rights, without discrimination of a political, racial, confessional and sex nature, acting in the areas of Maternal and Child Health, Protection and Promotion of Children's Rights through development cooperation projects carried out in countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America ”, as explained by María Antonio Jiménez, president of the Foundation in Spain.

The new ICAN Sevilla 2014 It will be celebrated throughout the center of Seville, in a journey full of architectural beauty. The swimming sector will be held on the Guadalquivir River, the scene of numerous top-level international sporting events; The cycling part will be in an urban circuit through the Andalusian capital and, finally, the section of the race on foot will take place through the historic center of Seville.

It will also be a new opportunity to combine sport and tourism, cornerstone of the ICAN project in the scenarios in which it has been in recent years. And the fact is that the presence of triathletes of more than 20 nationalities, and the estimation of an 40 percent of foreign athletes among the participants, ensures a great economic impact in destination. In fact, triathletes are expected to come from countries as far away as Brazil, the United States, Australia, Germany, Belgium, England or Portugal, among many others.

The head of ICAN, Sunil Bhardwaj, has valued very positively the arrival of ICAN to Seville on October 5, 2014. “I want to thank the Seville City Council and the Department of Tourism for all their support in the launch of this new Sevillian headquarters. Also to the Tierra de Hombres Foundation, which has trusted our idea from the first moment. We want to offer Seville all our enthusiasm and experience of a first class international sporting event with a tourist and economic impact of the first magnitude ”.

On the occasion of the presentation in society of the new ICAN Sevilla 2014, the organizers offer a unique opportunity for all triathletes.
