The ICAN57 Benicàssim opens with a spectacular bike circuit

The organizers of the first edition of ICAN57 Benicàssim, which will be played next September 27, work tirelessly to offer triathletes a test of the highest level. An event that, to the beauty of the stage, adds to the participants a perfect blend of hardness and uniqueness.

 

 

In that aspect, the ICAN 57 Benicàssim will test the triathletes with a one-way bike circuit that will be developed in a first level stretch along the coast to continue climbing a mountain pass, crossing the Natural Park of the Desert of the Palms. This Desert of Las Palmas was declared a Natural Park in 1989 due to its ecological, landscape and recreational value.

 

It will be the icing on an already top-level tour that will start with a sector of 1,9 km swimming in the sea, the aforementioned 45 kilometers of cycling in a single round of the circuit and that will end with a sector of running on foot, 10 km, by impressive places of the town of Castellón.

 

The departure and arrival will be located on the esplanade of the well-known Torreon Bernad, on the Torre Sant Vicent beach in Benicassim. The bike race will be developed in a single round to a circuit of 45 km that will have its exit in Benicassim, reaching Castellón and returning again to Benicassim crossing by road the Natural Park of the Desert of Las Palmas to finish in the Torreon Bernad again . The race on foot will take place in 2, totally flat, passing through the center of the town and along the promenade Pilar Coloma.

 

Benicàssim is located at 12 kilometers north of the city of Castellón and has a population of almost 19.000 inhabitants. It has more than 6.000 places of hotels and campsites and enjoys an average annual temperature of 18ºC. The length of its coastline is 6,9 km and it is located at 15 m above sea level.
