All prepared for the III Triathlon MD Cabo de Gata-Níjar

The third edition of this triathlon will have the participation of 400 triathletes where Diego Paredes and Elena Aguilar will try to revalidate the title.

In just a few hours 400 triathletes will take the start of what will be the third edition of the Half Distance Triathlon Cabo de Gata Níjar, scheduled for the 9 hours next Sunday at the beach of San José (Níjar-Almería).  

The triathletes will enjoy a privileged environment swimming in the crystalline waters of the Maritime Land Park of the Cabo de Gata, traveling by bicycle a whole volcanic origin and crossing on foot the wonderful spot of the beaches of San José, the Genoveses and Mónsul.

Among the list of participating triathletes note that among the favorites to win in 2014 are in the male category, the Hungarian Dàvid Bartos  winner of the 2014 XManromania, the nationals Antonio Benito (3º in the Spain Olympic Distance Triathlon Championship), Díaz Cuellar y Alejandro Valverde or the local option of Rafa Lao

For its part, in the female category, the presence of the Austrian Sylvia Gehnbök, of ample international palmarés and the national Amelia Torrego y Sara Mariscal.

All of them will contest the competition to the current winners of the race and they will also meet at the starting line: Diego Paredes, which will have to be seen how he has recovered from his recent participation in the Ironman World Championship 2014 -last weekend- and the incombustible Andalusian triathlete Elena Aguilar.
