Javier Gómez Noya Triathlon European Champion
Today he has achieved his fourth European title and Cesc Godoy is eighth.
Today has been held in the city of Lisbon Triathlon European Championship in Olympic distance where already the 4 times title winner and five times World Champion Javier Gómez Noya started as a big favorite, although the French David Hauss, the Swiss Sven Riederer, the Slovak Richard Varga or English Thomas Bishop they were also shuffling at bets.
As for the Spanish participation they also took the exit Cescs Godoy, Vicente Hernández, David Castroy Antonio Serrat.
In 2016 Noya's main objective is not this title but to try for the first time in the Olympic distance, two and a half months after the big date in Rio de Janeiro: "I am not far from the 100% but obviously I will give everything to be the best possible"I commented before the race.
The test began at 12:00 Spanish time, with the 1.5 km of swimming two laps inside the port just below the impressive bridge over the mouth of the Tagus.
Already over 40 km of cycling on a totally flat circuit with 8 laps, a group in the lead of 14 units was formed where Noya, Castro and Godoy were, while Vicente Hernández and Antonio Serrat remained in a second group reaching T2 with more than 1 minute of difference with respect to the head of the race.
In the 10 km running race Javier Gómez Noya came out the first to run followed by the Russian Polyansky who went together until the last kilometers, where Javier Gómez Noya accelerated the pace and got the final victory in a time of 1: 49: 30.
The second was the Dmitry Polyanskiy followed in third position by Andrea Salvisberg occupying the third final position. A great Francesc Godoy got the eighth place finish while Vicente Hernández ended in the 13ª position and Antonio Serrat in the 20º

With this victory, Noya has demonstrated its quality and that even though it is not at 100%, it aspires to everything in the Olympic Games.
Female test
In the female category the victory has been for the British India Lee followed in second position by the Ukrainian Yuliya Yelistratova and by Zsófia Kovács occupying the third final place.
Good performance from Anna Godoy in the ETU European Championship of getting the 16th final place in a close competition. While Sara Pérez closed her performance in 24th position.
