Javier Gómez Noya wins the IRONMAN 70.3 in Mossel Bay
Today it was held in South Africa, the HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 from Mossel Bay where the Spanish Javier Gómez Noya has once again climbed to the top of the podium in the IRONMAN franchise.
This victory marks an important milestone in his career, as he has won a test again after his last victory at the IRONMAN 70.3 in Pucón in January 2022.
In the Noya swim, he came second behind Nicholas Quenet who came first
During the cycle, Quenet extended his lead, reaching almost four minutes of difference at the halfway point.
However, the situation changed and the first to reach T2 was Matt Trautman, closely followed by Noya.
In the running race, Gómez Noya showed why he is considered one of the best triathletes in the world.
He took the lead from the start and never looked back. Halfway through the segment, he already had a 1:41 lead over Trautman.
Noya did a great half marathon, with a time of 1:12:40, achieving the best split of the day, and winning the race with a total race time of 3:51:46.
second was Matt Trautman (3:54:22) and Nicholas Quenet (4:00:09) completed the podium in third place, more than eight minutes behind Noya.
