Javier Gómez Noya gets the Passport 2014 award

The Galician triathlete has been chosen among the Finalists with 33% of the votes

 

 

These awards fulfill their Fifth edition and they have already become a reference, especially for all those sports and athletes who are usually only paid attention every four years, on the occasion of the Olympics.

 

After going through a preliminary selection process, a popular vote that received more than 10.000 votes and a final election among 19 members of a Grand Jury, the FIFTH edition of the Passport Awards (2014) already have their owners. The final winners in each of their categories have been:

 

Outstanding female athlete 2014: Carolina Marín (Badminton)

  • Finalists: Mireia Belmonte (Swimming), Karima Sánchez (Fight)

2014 most outstanding male athlete: Javier Gómez Noya (Triathlon)

  • Finalists: Rafael Nadal (Tennis), Sergio Mantecón (Mountain Bike)

Outstanding male athlete promise 2014: Jesus Tortosa (Taekwondo)

  • Finalists: Fran Garrigós (Judo), Álvaro Gormaz (Tiro) Olympic Pit)

Prominent female athlete 2014: Alicia Marín (Archery) and Sara Ouzande (Canoeing online), both tied with identical number of points after the intervention of the Grand Jury.

Finalist: Clara Azurmendi (Badminton)

Most outstanding Spanish team: Women's Basketball Team

  • Finalists: Liliana Fernández - Elsa Baquerizo (beach volleyball), Jesús Pérez and Dani Marzo (Slalom canoeing)

Most outstanding Spanish trainer: Fernando Rivas (Badminton)

  • Finalists: Miki Oca (Water polo), José María Martín del Campo (Taekwondo)

Momentum "Passport 2014": End of the Badminton World Championship

  • Finalists: World Final Women's Basketball, Final Jump European Height of Zurich

During the first fortnight of January, the date of the celebration of the 2014 Passport Awards Gala to be celebrated at the Olympic Museum of Barcelona.
