Javier Gomez Noya “I wanted to know the Olympic routes and competing is the best way. "

As a claim for participation, besides knowing the routes, the international federation will grant a place in the Olympic Games to the countries of the first three in each of the genres

On Sunday a triathlon is held in Rio de Janeiro on the same routes that will host the great Olympic event in August 2016, with the transition zone and the finish line on the famous Copacabana beach.

This test is not part of the World Series but has attracted almost all the best triathletes in the world, including of course Javier Gómez NoyaThe only exception is the youngest of the Brownlee brothers, Jonathan, who is injured with a stress fracture and will hardly be able to compete fully in 2015.

As a claim for participation, besides knowing the routes, the international federation will grant a place in the Olympic Games to the countries of the first three in each of the genres. In any case, even in the unlikely event that there was not a Spaniard on the podium on Sunday, the maximum quota of 3 seats seems assured by Gómez Noya, Mola and Alarza in the Top5 world ranking.

Javier comes motivated and fit, ready as always to give everything, even if the result is not the most important thing as he does not score for the World Series: “I wanted to know the Olympic routes and competing is the best way. The cycling is very tough, with two climbs in each of the 8 laps of 5km. It is short on the way out but with ramps of up to 20%, while on the return it is longer. That will make it difficult for us to get to T2 in large groups, and we will all have punished ourselves. Therefore not only will there be differences in cycling but also in the third phase, both due to the hardness of cycling and the humidity and heat ”.

Swimming is 1 lap of 1500m in an L shape; cycling in the mentioned 8 laps; and on foot 4 laps of 2km flat along the promenade. The men's start will be at 5:12 local, 30:17 in Spain. Unfortunately there will be no live TV coverage.
