Mallorca 140.6 opens registration, the new Mallorca long distance triathlon
Yesterday the new long distance event, Mallorca 140.6, has opened registrations.
With the celebration of Mallorca 140.6 the long distance triathlon will be played again in Alcudia in October of the 2020 after vyears without a test of this kind on the island and aspires to be a worldwide reference for amateurs and professionals.
It will be one first level sports test, with the return of one of the most attractive and demanding circuits of how many there are in Europe, in a unique natural environment in the Alcudia Bay, with the goal on the sand of the beach and a cycling tour with perfect conditions and tremendously attractive for its profile and landscape.
Registration is now open
The chosen date is October 24, 2020 and the registrations for a maximum of 1.500 triathletes.
The test will have two distances: Full and Half
The queen distance is named after the total sum of its journey in miles, 140.6, which equals 226 kilometers.
In total, athletes will have to complete 3.800 meters of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling segment (two laps to a circuit in which it is not allowed to roll in a platoon), and 42.195 meters of running on foot to the finish line in the beach in Alcudia .
The tours
The nerve center will be located in Playa de Muro, in the bay of Alcudia, including departure and finish, swimming and running, and the double transition between sports, Expo area and official hotels.
This town, which has one of the most important natural reserves of the Balearic Islands, such as Albufera, offers first-class tourist services and is the perfect environment for endurance sports, with an ideal climate, a privileged environment for swimming, cycling or jogging, and that will be overturned with the participants of the highly anticipated inaugural edition of this first level international event.
After swimming, the triathletes will have to complete the cycling segment that will take place in an attractive circuit of two laps of 90 kilometers with an 500 meters of unevenness each, and will run through a municipality as recognized by cyclists internationally as Muro, Can Picafort, Santa Margalida, María de la Salut, Ariany, Sineu, Llubí, Sa Pobla or Alcúdia.
