Mario Mola “Wildlife of the Year”

The Sports Association San Silvestre recognizes through these awards the sporting merit of those athletes who have stood out throughout the year

triathlete Mario Mola, two-time world triathlon champion; the female basketball team, European champion; José Luis González, 1.500 world runner-up in 1987 and double winner of the San Silvestre, and the relay 4 × 400, fifth this year at the World Championships in London with Lucas Búa, Darwin Echeverry, Óscar Husillos and Samuel García, are added to the list of winners to the presenter Anne Igartiburu and the director of Marca, Juan Ignacio Gallardo.

The Wild of the Year will be delivered on Monday 11 December at the headquarters of the Spanish Olympic Committee.

Antonio Sabugueiro, founder of the San Silvestre Vallecana, created these awards in 1993 with the aim of recognizing the effort, dedication and the sportsmen and people linked to the sport or to the Madrid race.

Mario Mola Triathlon World Champion 2017

The presentation of the official book of the San Silvestre Vallecana, La SanSil, will take place at the same moment of the presentation of the Wilds of the Year, with unpublished photographs, anecdotes, testimonies, stories and statistics.
