Miriam Casillas and Antonio Serrat pre-classified for the Paris 2024 Games 

The Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) has officially announced that Miriam Casillas y Antonio Serrat They are the first triathletes pre-classified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.  

This ad, held on December 5, 2023, marks a significant milestone in the careers of both athletes and in Spanish triathlon. 

Miriam Casillas, originally from Extremadura and currently 14th in the Olympic qualification ranking, is preparing for her third Olympic Games.  

With an impressive career that includes a 43rd place in Rio 2016 and a 21st place in Tokyo 2021 in the individual event, as well as an outstanding 10th place in the Mixed Relay, Miriam continues to make history in the national triathlon. 

On the other hand, Antonio Serrat, the Galician who occupies 14th place in the Olympic qualification rankings, is preparing for his Olympic debut. 

Despite having been left out of the Tokyo Games, Antonio has demonstrated his quality through outstanding performances in recent months, thus earning his place in the next Olympic Games. 

Both athletes must maintain optimal fitness during the Olympic year to confirm their final classification.  

Although they are not considered medal favorites, their participation is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport. 

Other athletes to take into account

In addition to Miriam and Antonio, other Spanish triathletes such as Noelia Juan y Sanchez Mantecon They are well positioned in the FETRI ranking and could join them in Paris.  

The fight for the remaining places is still open, with athletes like Anna Godoy, Martha Pintanel, Sara Guerrero, Cecilia Santamaría, Genis Grau, Alberto González, David Castro, Sergio Báxter, Mason y Stephen Basanta in the contest.
