The Spaniards back to the charge in New Plymouth, second stop of the Triathlon World Cup

6 Spanish triathletes will participate in the test

 

 

After the successes obtained by our triathletes just a week ago in Mooloolaba, the second round of the ITU Triathlon World Cup returns to the scene. On this occasion, the 2015 edition will travel the next 22 from March to New Plymouth (New Zealand). An event that will take place over sprint distance and in which we will be represented by a total of six triathletes.

Located in the southwestern part of the North Island of New Zealand, the town of New Plymouth will present a circuit consisting of 750 m swimming, to later start a cycling tour of 20 km that will run for four laps. Finally, a final stretch of 5 km of running, which will be divided into three laps that will sail around the city of the Taranaki region.

In male category we will start with Jesús Gomar, which arrives with the aim of continuing the good moment started in Mooloolaba. Along with the triathlete of Gandía will also take the start Uxio Abuin y Pablo Dapena, with the sights set on trying to improve in these first international competitions of the year. The South African Richard Murray, the Russian Alexander Bryukhankov or the local triathlete Ryan Sissons will be some of the opponents to beat next Sunday.

In the women's competition, the brand new champion of the Mooloolaba Cup, Tamara Gómez, will seek to continue with the great start of the season that is playing a leading role. Next to her, Carolina Routier arrives with the purpose of consolidating his position in this appointment in the face of Olympic qualification. For its part, the third Spanish in New Zealand lands, Miriam Casillas, will struggle to establish itself in a comfortable position among the world elite. Among its main rivals, the presence of the Czech Vendula Frintova, the Australian Felicity Sheedy-Ryan, the Hungarian Margit Vanek or the Japanese Ai Ueda.

The female elite will be responsible for opening the day from the 12: 30 local time (00: 30, peninsular Spanish time). While the male elite will come into action from the 14: 30 hours (02: 30, peninsular Spanish time).
