News in the FETRI 2021 Spanish Championships

The FETRI 2021 calendar presents for this next season some news and changes in the individual Spanish Championships. [no_knock]

These changes are marked by the development trend of international triathlon in the different modalities.

A new Aquabike Media Distancia championship is created

In addition to the creation of new national championships such as the Aquabike Media Distancia, competitions are regularized based on the new categories.

The youth category is created

There will be a restructuring of the ages in cadets and juniors, and the new youth category will be created; and also the maximum competition distances depending on the ages.

The Covid-19 protocols will remain in force

During the year 2021 and depending on the needs FETRI security protocols will be applied updated with the experiences of the year 2020 ,.

For this, the necessary adaptability will be provided to the health regulations established by the Autonomous Communities and guaranteeing a safe environment for all those involved.

What changes take place in the Spanish Championships?

The individual Triathlon Spanish championships, regardless of the Medium and Long Distance, will register some of the main changes.

Spanish Sprint Distance Triathlon Championship

En PontevedraOn September 25 and 26, the Spanish Sprint distance championships will be held for Elite, Age Groups and Paratriathlon and in SuperSprint for cadets, youth, juniors and talent paratriathlon.

The competition format in cadet, youth and junior categories will be qualifying with a series of 50 athletes until a final of 50 is formed.

Olympic distance triathlon Spain Championship

En BanyolesOn September 4 and 5, the Elite athletes and Age Groups will compete in the Olympic distance, and the youth and junior categories will compete in the Sprint distance.

Juniors and Juniors will have two Spanish Triathlon Championships in 2021, in the Sprint and SuperSprint distances.

Spanish Duathlon Championship

The Spanish Individual Duathlon Championship, in Avilés On April 10 and 11, it will only be in Sprint distance for Elite, Age Groups and Paratriathlon.

The SuperSprint format will be for Cadets, Youth, Junior and Paratriathlon talents, also with qualifying series of 50 and final of 50.

Spain Duathlon MD Championship

The Spanish Medium Distance Duathlon Championship for Elite, Age Groups and Paratriathlon It is scheduled for November 14, pending headquarters.

Spanish Championship of "Aquabike" Medium Distance
