All the news of the Half Challenge Barcelona 2013, which will have three climbs.

The next 19 in May Calella will host a new edition of the Half Challenge Barcelona-Maresme, this year scoring for the European Championship.

This new edition presents a lot of new arrivals. The first, which had not yet been revealed will be the location of the exit and the course of the swim. This year the Half will not leave from the Playa Grande but from the Playa de Garbí

The triathletes will jump into the water to cover the 1900 meters in a rectangular circuit. First they will make 200 meters offshore to turn towards Pineda, where they will swim 1500 more meters until they find a buoy that will make them turn towards land to swim the last 200 meters.

In this way, they will arrive at the sea football field where the bicycle transition zone will be, as in previous editions, as the career director Agustí Pérez has advanced to Radio Calella TV.

Other novelty not yet explained is the new circuit of 21km of the running race It will be played between Calella and Pineda taking advantage of the entire Paseo de Manuel Puigvert until the end of Paseo de Garbí, where the new arrival will be located.

The most spectacular novelty is the nNew location of the final arrival. This edition will not be at the height of the monument of the Sardana, but on the Paseo de Garbí towards the municipal swimming pool. An arrival located, inside a kind of stadium, under the Lighthouse of Calella and the beach itself. To the side there will be a tent of 40 square meters with the physiotherapy service.

On the other hand as for the 90 km bike will be a one-turn circuit passing between the regions of Maresme and Vallès Oriental and circulating through two natural parks: the Corredor-Montnegre and the Montseny. Its main characteristic is that it has three climbs, two to Collsacreu and one in the town of Montseny, with a Accumulated unevenness of 1200m.

This change of circuit will allow the organization to put more triathletes without any problem with the drafting. For this question, and as confirmed by the organization, 300 had been unable to make the registration in other editions.

The circuit has a first common part of round trip that includes the towns of Calella, St. Pol de Mar, St. Cebrià de Vallalta, St.Iscle de Vallalta, Arenys de Munt and Vallgorguina, and a second part making a loop through the towns of St. Celoni, Fogars de Monclús, Montseny, St. Esteve de Palautordera, Sta. Maria de Palautordera.

This year also as a novelty will move the Expo Challenge, the attention of the athletes and the press in the Llobet-Guri Factory.

With regard to the organization from the City Council, the deputy mayor of Ciudadanía, Xavier Arnijas, commented that the change of route in the segment of the foot race exploits the beauty of the city of Calella. In addition, Arnijas added that negotiations with the new towns participating in the race have been sufficiently positive, although they have not been easy. Arnijas has valued these changes in the race as they help to reduce costs.

Finally, note that with respect to Challenge of the month of October, se will maintain the changes of location of the departure and arrival but the race in bicycle will recover the original layout for the Maresme region.
