Pontevedra prepared to host the Spanish Sprint Triathlon Championship

El Spanish Sprint Distance Triathlon Championship Arrives this weekend in Pontevedra and will once again make one of the most traditional venues of the Spanish Triathlon Federation vibrate with explosive competitions in which triathletes from all over Spain will be measured on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October.

The Avenida de Buenos Aires will once again host the center of the competition venue, with the swimming segment in the Lérez River, next to the Puente de los Tirantes, and the cycling and foot races in the surroundings of the riverbanks. river pontevedrés.

The distances of 750 meters of swimming, almost 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of final foot race, guarantee the spectacle and speed in the Elite, Age Group and Paratriathlon competitions.

The tests for athletes in the Cadet, Youth and Junior categories will be even more explosive, taking place on the SuperSprint distance, with 250 meters of swimming, 6 kilometers of cycling and 3 kilometers of running.

In addition, they will be held in the format of qualifying series, three per category and gender, in which the places for the grand final of each category will be put into play.

The Sprint Pontevedra 2021 Spanish Triathlon Championship will begin on Saturday, October 2 at 9 a.m. and until almost 12 a.m. The qualifying series A, B and C of the male cadet, female cadet, male junior, female junior, male youth and female youth categories will be played consecutively.

The day of Saturday, October 2, will close with the Elite events, in a single start at 17:15 p.m. for the female category, and 19:XNUMX p.m. for the male.

On Sunday, October 3, the Age Group competitions will take place, starting at 9 a.m., and Paratriathlon, with the first departure at 12 noon.
