Preview Dextro Energy ITU World Triathlon Series Hamburg
This weekend the German town of Hamburg is hosting the fifth round of the ITU Triathlon World Series calendar. On this occasion, many of the contestants face the last competition prior to the Olympic Games. from London at the beginning of August. On the Spanish side, the event will feature the majority of our Olympic representatives, who complete their preparation for the great challenge of the British capital.
All participants will enter the Alster River to perform the respective 750 m of swimming. Once this first segment is over, they will cycle 20 km through an urban circuit, made up of four routes of 5 km each. Finally, they will face a 5 km race on foot through a flat section that stands out for its 180º turns.
In the female elite category, the current European runner-up, Ainhoa Murua; Zuriñe Rodríguez; Marina Damlaimcourt and the young Carolina Routier will have in front of a squad that includes Australians Erin Densham and Ashleigh Gentle, American Sarah Groff or local Anja Dittmar among others.
For his part, Javier Gómez Noya (recent bronze medal in the last Kitzbühel World Series) and Mario Mola They will be our representatives in the male category. Along with them, the Germans Steffen Justus and Jan Frodeno; New Zealander Bevan Docherty or South African Richard Murray will fight for the top of the podium.
Participants in the men's elite mode will be the first to start on Saturday July 21 from 18:26 p.m. The next day it will be the turn of the female elite from 16:06. Both tests can be followed through the website www.triathlon.org/live.
