Premiere of the "Countdown to Ibiza" program before the first PTO European Open

Next May 2 at 21:30 CET, Eurosport 1 will premiere the special program "Countdown to Ibiza" cAs part of the expected and first edition of the European PTO Open that will be held on the island of Ibiza, on May 6.

Program focused on Jan Frodeno and Daniela Ryf

The 30-minute show, filmed and produced by the PTO's in-house content team, will focus on German Jan Frodeno, considered the best triathlete of all time, and the switzerland Daniela Ryf, one of the foremost athletes in the sport.

Both are looking to retake their podium position after periods of injury and career breaks.

Frodeno, 41, will speak exclusively about his return to competition, while Ryf, 35, will share his winning instincts and motivation to keep competing.

Wide international coverage and access in PTO+

The “Countdown to Ibiza” program will be available in 20 languages y will be broadcast in more than 100 countries, thanks to agreements with various international, regional and local media such as DAZN, beIN Sports and SPOTV. In addition, it can be enjoyed on the PTO+ platform.

Sam Renouf, PTO CEO, and Tim Godfrey, PTO CMO, highlight the importance of this program in growing the triathlon fan base and introducing triathlon athletes to the general public.

Elite at the PTO European Open

The first PTO European Open will have the participation of PTO Ranking Top 10 Female Athletes and three Olympic triathlon champions since 2008: Kristian Blummenfelt (2020) Alistair Brownlee (2012 and 2016) and Jan Frodeno (2008).

The races will be broadcast live in Europe through Eurosport 2 and other associated media.

PTO Tour 2023 Calendar

The PTO Tour 2023 will begin in Ibiza on May 6 with the first PTO European Open, to continue in Milwaukee with the PTO US Open from August 4 to 5 and end in Singapore with the first PTO Asian Open from August 19 to 20.
