News in the 2015 Triathlon Competition Regulations

The blue card is included for sanctions for drafting that will have a time penalty

La Spanish Federation of Triathlon has presented the new competition regulations 2015 that comes into force for this season, after review by the ITU Technical Committee, its subsequent approval by the ITU Executive Committee and the translation and adaptation of said modifications to the regulations of the Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI).

These changes will be introduced gradually, and always under the advice of officials, so that all athletes can adapt to them.

Most important modifications of the regulation:

• Inclusion of blue card for sanctions for "drafting", with modification of sanction times.
• Modification of the limits of water temperatures in the Long Distance competitions.
• Differentiation in exit protocols between Elite competitions and Age Groups.
• Regulation of the output by intervals.
• Differentiation in characteristics of bicycles and wheels, between Elite and Age Groups.
• The use of the coupling it will only be allowed in elite competitions with "drafting" and in all competitions "without drafting".
• New wording on the rEgulations that affect the "drafting".
• Inclusion of a specific section related to competitions.
• Creation of a new instance of appeals in the Championships of Spain.
•    Paratriathlon Section with the new adaptations, classes, and specific regulation.
