Rubén Ruzafa Cros Triathlon World Champion

The Malaga has revalidated the title achieved last year.

 

 

Today it was held in the Italian town of Sardinia on Cros Triathlon World Championship, where the malagueño Rubén Ruzafa he has won the victory proclaiming himself for the second consecutive year World Champion.

"The circuits of the World Championship this year were not very technical. The mountain bike circuit had a lot of fast track and in the race track there was a lot of sand, almost 70% was on the beach."

Ruzafa struggled in swimming, receiving several strokes and swallowing water, leaving the water approximately 1'30 "behind the main contenders. After T1 he showed his experience in the MTB World Cup, and once again turned it around to competition in the bike segment.  

"After the first climb I managed to overtake those who went ahead of me, except for three, which I reached before finishing the first round".

Ruzafa reached T2 with a 1'20 "lead but lost much of his lead during the foot race. His pursuer made him suffer but the world champion knew how to hold on to victory for less than thirty seconds. 

"It has been very hard! I am very happy and now is the time to celebrate the world title and prepare for the XTERRA World Championship in Maui. " 

Rubén Ruzafa with this triumph has achieved his 16ª consecutive victory so it is presented as the big favorite to get the Xterra world title for the fourth time the next November 1 in Maui (Hawaii).
