In the end, Middaugh managed to overtake Ruzafa in the foot race, securing his victory.

Rubén commented on networks:

"Very happy happy with my race and result. It wasn't easy to get a good result, but it came out.

It's been a run with @sullivanmiddaugh from the swim to going for the win in the run.

In swimming I started 1'30 behind @samosborne7, but managed to get into the lead in the first third of the bike.

I tried to release Sullivan on the bike, but I couldn't and we risked it on foot. Sullivan put land in between at km 2 and I held on in second position. "
