Sara Loërh second in the Ironman 70.3 Cascais-Portugal

Vanessa Fernandes comes back 8 minutes in the foot race and gets the victory. Iván Tejero was fourth, Saleta Castro fifth, Jordi Pascual and Patricia Bueno seventh

Today the first edition of the Cascais has been held in the Portuguese town of Cascais. Ironman 70.3 Cascais-Portugal where we had the presence of 8 Spaniards in the professional category as Saleta Castro, Sara Loërh, Patricia Bueno, Iván Tejero , Carlos Aznar, Jordi Pascual, Patrick Alonso  y Eneko Elosegui

Sara Loerh is having a great season after her vitoria this year in Challenge Salou the fourth place in the Ironman 70.3 Barcelona and the fifth place in the Ironman 70.3 Vichy last week.

The test that began at 7 in the morning with the 1,9 km of swimming, the fastest was the Swedish Annie Thoren followed by a group with the Portuguese Vanessa Fernandes, the French Julie Stephan, Saleta Castro and Sara Loërh at 2 : 21 from the Swedish.

Already in the circuit of 90 km of cycling, Thoren led the solo test increasing the advantage over her pursuers to go through the 75 km of the race with almost 5 minutes of advantage over the Australian Sylvia Gehnboeck and 6 over Sara Loërh who was third in the test. However in the final part Gehnboeck had to stop at the penalty box by a penalty that the Austrian did overcome her reaching T2 in the lead with 1:42 advantage over Thoren and 2:51 over Loërh. Saleta Castro entered fourth position at 6:54 behind the leader of the event.

In the 21 km of race in the town of Cascais, we could see a great comeback from the Spanish Sara Loërh who was climbing positions to reach the head of the race at km 9, although the Portuguese champion Vanessa fernandes  He raced close to 8 minutes in the 21 km, getting the victory in the race with a time of 04: 33: 12 followed by Sara Loërh (04: 34: 02) and the Austrian Sylvia Gehnboeck (4: 36: 42) Saleta Castro (04: 39: 33) finally it was fifth and  Patricia Bueno (05: 02: 27) seventh

Denis Chevrot takes the first edition

In the men's event, the fastest to get out of the water was the French Denis Chevrot followed by the Spanish Iván Tejero, and the Swiss Philipp Koutny at 1 minute.

In the first kilometers of cycling, Chevrot was still in the lead followed by Koutny with a strong rhythm that made him catch up with the Frenchman at the 25 km of the race, where Iván Tejero was in third position at 5:25 behind the leaders of the race.

The duet remained in the race in a large sector where they increased the advantage over their pursuers to reach T2 together with a difference of 13 minutes over Bruno Pais and 16:24 over Iván Tejero.

In the race 21 km the French Denis Chevrot He gradually distanced himself from his rival to get the victory in this first edition with a time of 03: 55: 02, followed by Philipp Koutny  (03: 57: 45) and by the Bruno Country (04: 15: 36) occupying the third final position. The Spanish Iván Tejero (04: 22: 42) finished the test in a magnificent fourth final position and Jordi Pascual (04: 29: 39) was seventh
