Do you dare with Challenge Peguera-Mallorca? The best triathlon to close your season

Have you thought about where to end your 2019 triathlon season?

If your answer is NO, we suggest you close it in a spectacular place, MALLORCA, and "marking" yourself a real challenge, overcome the middle distance CHALLENGE PEGUERA MALLORCA. You dare?

Challenge Peguera-Mallorca is a medium distance triathlona (1,9 km by swimming, 90 km by bicycle, 21 km of running race) which is celebrated on s19 October October 2019. The core of the test is located in Peguera, a town in the municipality of Calvià.

The event is part of the European Challenge Family calendar and has an important participation of foreign triathletes, around 80%, mainly from Germany and the United Kingdom.

Located at the end of October, the Challenge Peguera-Mallorca is presented as the end-of-season event of the European triathlon, a fact that attracts many professional athletes to participate.

Swimming circuit

The swimming circuit (1,9 km) develops in a U-shape in the crystal clear waters of the beach of Torà de Peguera, which at the dates of the event maintain a temperature that is around 21ºC. The 1 transition zone is less than 150 meters from the shore.

Bike circuit

The circuit of the cycling section combines the urban and the rural in two turns of 45 km each. It is developed entirely by roads closed to traffic and contains technical segments such as the Coll dels Truis (5%), route of arrival to the traditional village of Es Capdellà. This is presented as a gateway to the beautiful Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO world heritage site.

The first part of the circuit runs through a natural environment, with almond groves where sheep herds graze immersed in the calm of the landscape. Once the nucleus of Calvià Vila has been left behind, the route reaches its most urban and coastal stretch, as the triathletes will go through different urbanizations and will feel the sea breeze again closely.

Race circuit on foot

Once the bike is left at T2, participants will begin the stretch on foot, which takes place along the boulevard and the promenade of Peguera. The circuit consists of 5,250 km, so it takes four turns.

Surrounded by businesses of various kinds, bars and restaurants, the walking tour is characterized by the large number of people that accumulate on the margins to encourage runners and brokers.

In turn, one of the most spectacular points is the stretch along the beach of Palmira, where they will confront their effort with the enjoyment of bathers.
