A professional triathlete expelled 6 months from Zwift for cheating
Tampered with power meter data
According to the Triathlonmagazine website, the Israeli triathlete Antonina Reznikova has been expelled from the virtual cycling platform Zwift for having intentionally manipulated the data of a competition.
reznikov was bronze medal at the 2018 World Long Distance Duathlon Championships
This has been the decision of the Verification Board which discovered that on January 11 there was intentionally manipulated data during a Zwift Racing League event
According to thethe decision, "LZwift's automated systems identified that the data recorded from the rider's power meter could have been edited and this warranted further investigation ".
Upon investigation, the Board determined that the data presented by Reznikov was 32% higher than the originally recorded values.
When Zwift questioned the triathlete, she initially denied editing the file, though she later "acknowledged that her energy data had been changed before sending it to Zwift."
6 month penalty
The Board decided that “it is beyond reasonable doubt that the rider intentionally tampered with your data” and applied a Level 3 sanction (“Disparing the sport – Fabrication or modification of any data”), which means that you will receive a six-month suspension (until July 10, 2021)
