Valladolid will have its ICAN Triathlon test next July 7

The “magic triangle” of ICAN tests is completed in 2012 with a competition in Valladolid, which will take place on July 7, both in the Half ICAN modality (1,9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21 km running on foot. ) and in the so-called ICAN 52 (1,5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of athletics). Thanks to the Mixed Tourism Society and the Valladolid City Council, who have put all their resources and experience at the service of ICAN, the Castilian capital will have some of the best international triathletes and will once again be a national benchmark in sports.

ICAN Triathlon continues its unstoppable growth. After consolidating the Marbella test, with a successful second edition for the month of April –which will have more than 1.000 participants-, and guaranteeing in the future the international proposal of Mallorca-Paguera for the next four years, those responsible for ICAN have closed a new scenario.

In addition, it will be a different test, with the difficulty of swimming in the Pisuerga river, with a flat and technical circuit through the immensity of the Castilian plateau and with a foot race throughout the center of the Valladolid capital, enjoying some of the most emblematic buildings.

El ICAN Valladolid 2012 will have the schedule as a novelty In front of the morning shifts in Marbella or Palma, the Castilian event will start at around 15:30 p.m. -half an hour later for ICAN 52-, taking advantage of the daylight hours offered by summer. The start and finish will be located in the impressive 'Millennium Dome', one of the capital's landmark buildings, which could already be seen at the Zaragoza Expo.

The cycling event will take place through the Castilian plateau, in a round trip circuit to the town of Villabañez, always along secondary roads to guarantee the safety of the triathletes and with the enjoyment of crossing the vineyards of some of the most famous wineries and the world-famous 'broths' from Ribera del Duero.

ICAN Valladolid 2012 will have, finally, the honor of completing the race on foot in a circuit throughout the center of the capital, reaching such emblematic buildings as the Church of San Pablo, the Pimentel Palace, the Church of Las Angustias, Plaza Mayor or the City Hall, to finish in the 'Millennium Dome'. They want to take advantage of the project launched by the Municipal Council, called 'Ríos de Luz', and which has led Valladolid to be named as the “best lit city in the world”.

Triathletes, along with family members who come to the Castilian test next summer, will be able to enjoy the magnificent gastronomy of Valladolid, in addition to the cultural value of its monuments.
