Villafranca de los Barros, last option to qualify for the Spanish Elite Duathlon Championship

Villafranca de los Barros dresses up this March 16, hosting the last opportunity for those athletes seeking classification at the Spanish Elite Duathlon Championship.

The Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) has chosen this town as the perfect setting for the closing of the qualifications for the national championship, which will be held in Avilés at the beginning of April.

During the official presentation of the test, held in the press room of the Badajoz Provincial Council, key figures such as Ricardo Cabezas, Sports Deputy of the Government of Extremadura; Paco Jimenez, Mayor of Villafranca de los Barros; Jesus Grandson, President of the Capex club; and Jose Manuel Tovar, President of the Extremadura Triathlon Federation, highlighted the importance of this event.

Cabezas pointed out the qualifier as “an authentic sporting spectacle” and a “unique opportunity” to project the image of the province of Badajoz at the national level.

The competition will be divided into two phases, starting with the women's category at 16:30 p.m. and followed by the men's category at 18 p.m.
