Covid-19 measures aligned with the situation of each country

"From World Triathlon they want to deeply thank everyone for their professionalism and spirit of collaboration that they have shown in such a turbulent year for sport around the world, ”Said Marisol Casado, President of the World Triathlon.
"From the first indicators of the magnitude of the impact of the pandemic, our priority has always been to ensure clarity and transparency for our athletes and for all of us who are involved in triathlon.
We have felt frustration and disappointment, but the events that we have developed since August fill us with pride. Now we can say that the year 2021 finds us ready; ready to enjoy an exciting season."
The fundamental tests
The Hamburg World Cup race took place on a new circuit on the outskirts of the city, and was completely closed to the public, in order to comply with city regulations. The athletes had to submit a negative PCR test to enter the country.
The Arzachena World Cup was celebrated thanks to individual invitation letters to all competitors and visitors, while in Valencia there were antibody tests and rapid tests when necessary.
"The simple option would have been to cancel the races"
"Everyone brought something new from each event. The simple option would have been to cancel the races, but there was a great desire to develop them on the part of the National Federations, governments, Local Organizing Committees, and of course the World Triathlon and the athletes.. "
The Medical and Technical Committee will review all these measures for the next season and will incorporate updated information and advice from WHO.
