Garmin Barcelona Triathlon changes date

The test leaves its traditional location in the first week of October and moves to the 21 in June.

Garmin Barcelona Triathlon will return to the sports agenda of the best professional and amateur triathletes in 2015 but will do so with the great novelty of abandoning its traditional location in the calendar, on the first weekend of October, and will move to the 21 in June.

The reasons that have led the organization to this change are several, including decrease the risk of adverse weather conditions, both sea and land, which facilitate the participation of all types of competitors, also increasing the probability of being able to do a complete triathlon, without having to cancel any sector. Likewise, a date has been searched to avoid coinciding with other sports events on the calendar.

During the celebration of the last edition, close to 1000 triathletes were consulted through a survey on the idea of ​​moving the competition to dates close to the beginning of summer, an initiative that had an acceptable reception as it favors a complete set-up for the competition throughout the winter and spring months.
