The Spaniards go to the penultimate stage of the World Cup in Cartagena de Indias

Spain comes to this competition with five triathletes, who will give the maximum in the debut of this town in the ITU competition calendar.

 

 

This Sunday Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) will host the penultimate round of the ITU 2014 Triathlon World Cup.

 

The male elite will have a total of 74 participants from 32 countries; while in females, 51 triathletes from 23 countries will take the start. In this opportunity the competition will be played over Olympic distance, with an initial segment of 1,5 km of swimming along two laps, followed by 40 km cyclists for a completely flat course on the sea, to finish with eight laps in a stretch of 10 km of running race.

 

The Spanish Carolina Routier, Miriam Casillas, Tamara Gómez (that arrives after reaching the sixth place last weekend in Cozumel) and María Ortega they will have to face rivals like the current Olympic champion Nicola Spirig, the winner of the ETU ranking and of the Grand Final of the European Cup in Madrid, Yuliya Yelistratova, the Italian Charlotte Bonin or the American Lindsey Jerdonek.

 

In the male box, we will have Pablo Dapena that will fight in Colombian lands with the French Etienne Diemunsch (winner of the recent World Cup of Cozumel), the Swiss Sven Riederer (winner in Alanya), the second classified in Cozumel, Jarrod Shoemaker or the Portuguese Joao Pereira.
