Josemi Pérez and María Pujol favorites for the I Nutrisport Half Triathlon of Seville

Josemi Pérez and María Pujol are favorites after the triumph they won two weeks ago at the Seville Triathlon.

 

 

The I NutriSport Half-Triathlon of Seville, third test of the Europa FM Circuit, seeks to register the name of its first winners. and today around seven thirty in the afternoon, we will know who is the first to cross the finish line at the Parque del Alamillo.

 

In the list of favorites appear in capital letters Josemi Pérez in male category and María Pujol in feminine Both won the victory just two weeks ago at the Seville Triathlon, in a similar circuit, so they will want to maintain the pedal stroke. Josemi Pérez hopes "that it is not too hot, I will give the 100%. As my friend José María Merchán says, you have to die by killing. " For her part, María Pujol commented that "at the Seville Triathlon I did not have to squeeze too much, so I got more rested".

 

Along with Pérez (Olympian in the London Games'12) and Pujol other illustrious names appear in the list of favorites: in the men's category Pedro Miguel Reig (ninth in the last Long Distance World Championship held in Vitoria) and José Almagro (former professional cyclist). In the female category, Granada stands out Elena Aguilar (winner in the Desafío Doñana'13), the Basque Arrate Mintegui, the Catalan Nuria Pubill or the Seville Miriam Gómez.

 

This hard test, under the modality of half Ironman, will start the 15h30 from the CAR in the Guadalquivir River. After swimming 1,9 kilometers, the triathletes will pedal during 90 kilometers through the municipalities of Guillena, Salteras, Olivares, Gerena, Alcalá del Río, La Algaba, San Juan de Aznalfarache and Seville; finally, they will run 21 kilometers (half marathon) along the Guadalquivir River to finish at the Parque del Alamillo.

 

In spite of being its first edition, the organizers had to close registrations when arriving at the 700 triathletes, to guarantee the safety of all the athletes. A great success, which makes it one of the three halfs with the largest participation in Spain. Of those registered, an 82% are from outside of Seville, with the significant economic impact that this has on the city. In addition, the 15,7% are foreigners, which denotes the international nature of the test.
