We interviewed Albert Moreno on the occasion of his presence in Alpe D'Huez

"I think my strong point is the race on foot, I have a security in my brutal half marathon."

Albert Moreno is presented today as a great bet of future for the Spanish Triathlon, with only 23 years, the Catalan triathlete has already achieved great successes in Duathlon and Mid Distance Triathlon both nationally and internationally, and is already committed to the Media and Long Distance.

Albert Since when do you train triathlon and how were your beginnings in this discipline?

I started practicing triathlon when I had 16 / 17 years, I came from athletics and before I had always liked the bicycle, so that led me to start in the duathlon. Half a year later I saw that the duathlons were over and I looked for another diversion, and there the triathlon appeared.

How and when do you decide to take the jump from Sprint and Olympic distance tests to Medium and Long Distance?

Returning home after spending two years in the Blume in Madrid. I knew how to assimilate that I would never have a swimming for Olympic tests, then I saw that there was another option that I, who have always liked training a lot, called me more and in the end that led me to move to the middle distance.

What is your strong point in competition, swimming, cycling or running?

I think my strong point is the race on foot, I have a security in my brutal half marathon.

What attracts you the most about a test as spectacular as the Alpe d'Huez Triathlon?

What attracted me most about Alpe d'Huez at the beginning was that I had always heard about the port and two years ago I decided that I had to go. I was very young and I got a good one. Last year I came back because I had something pending. And this year I'll be back because I'm excited by all that is lived in this test, how hard it is and the outstanding accounts that I have been dragging from previous years.

Do you think a demanding mountain circuit suits you?

I think that it is a circuit that adapts to me, it has been seen that in hard circuits I defend myself well, as it could be Getxo or the Natureman. Although this is something longer and will play more training.

In spite of how young you are to compete in Long Distance, and the hardness of the Alpe d'Huez test that is linked to its spectacularity, parts as one of the favorites to the podium What are your goals and what progression do you pose in this season in search of finishing with a podium position is this mythical Alpe d'Huez appointment?

This year the objectives are to qualify for the 70.3 World Championship in September in Canada (http://albertmorenomolins.blogspot.com.es/2013/11/objetivo-de-la-temporada.html ), and this is the race of Alpe d'Huez. A race that I think if I get to the T2 whole if I can be among the favorites, but I know from previous years that the hard part is getting all the way up (you have to train a lot and have a lot of head for this race), I hope not to miss this year) .

The triathlon is a sport in continuous growth and that every time is having a greater recognition at media level, nevertheless the sponsorships and collaborations in the times that we live are being difficult for our sport.

Today you are one of the best Spanish triathletes Is there a brand of material or organizer of competitions such as Alpe d'Huez to which you would like to send your thanks for this support that helps guarantee your continuity as a Triathlon professional?

Of course, I am very grateful to Orbea and Orca who have bet until 2016, which guarantees me a tranquility and a brutal pride the fact of being able to take their material of great quality and to work with a huge group.

I also have to thank Isostar for supporting me in everything I need to hydrate, eat in my training and competitions. To Asics that helps me with all the material for running. A Durance Triathlon which is my French triathlon team. A Wefeel Sport that is has joined the project this year and they are looking forward to grow, and finally to collaborators like Rudy Project (Sportmed), Scicon Bags, and David Serra Physiotherapy

Thank you very much and we wish you good luck in your career as a Professional Triathlete.
