Javier Gómez Noya second in the Stockholm World Series

Alistair Brownlee made an attack in the cycling sector that was decisive for the victory

 

 On the afternoon of Sunday, the penultimate meeting of the Triathlon World Series in the beautiful city of Stockholm.

 

 

In this test, they again faced Olympic distance for the first time from the Olympic Games the 3 London medalists, Alistair yy Jonathan Bronwlee with Javier Gómez Noya.

 

As expected the duel has been between them 3, being decisive an attack from the English Alistair Brownlee on the last bike ride to proclaim winner of the test with a final time of 1: 43: 13. Speeding up in 14 seconds to Spanish Javier Gómez Noya and his brother  Jonathan brownlee  that came to 37 '' occupying the third position.

 

The race that ran on Olympic distance (1500-40-10) has been very fast. In the swimming sector I lead with clarity the two laps of which the French was composed Richard Vargas, always followed closely by the Brownlee brothers.

 

In the cycling sector, from the beginning, a 8 group , where almost all the favorites were, with The Brownlee brothers, Javier Gómez Noya, Richar Varga, Vicent Luis, Aurelioen Raphael, Alessandro Fabian and Henri Schoeman.

 

But already on the last lap the Brownlee's older brother, Alistair, made a solo attack that allowed him to run the last 10 km of the race with an advantage of 21 '' which was decisive to get the victory.

 

In the race on foot, always behind Alistair, Javier Gómez Noya and Jonathan Brownlee joined forces to try to catch up with Alistair, until with 2 kilometers to go,  Javier made an attack that he took the least of the Brownlees, guaranteeing him the money, but it was not enough, although he obtained the best partial run on foot with 29: 02 I can not reach Alistair who reached the finish line with 12 "of advantage over Spanish.

 

Vicente Hernández I finished in 36th position with a time of 1:49:55 and Ricardo Hernández 43 with a final 1 time: 52: 00

 

As to ITU Ranking, the 2013 champion, will have to decide on the Great End of London, although after Escotolmo the positions of the ranking have been changed, the last test in London is missing.

 

Alistair Brownlee is leader with a total of 3140 points, followed by Jonathan Brownlee with 3085 and Javier Gomez Noya with 3020 points. To score in the ranking, the 4 best scores are selected between World Cups and World Series.

 

The next and decisive appointment of the Triathlon World Series will be in London on next September 15
