Oscar Vicente proclaims himself Spanish Sprint Champion
This Saturday 6 of October has taken place the Championship of Spain Sprint in masculine category. The Galician Óscar Vicente has been awarded the title in sub23 and elite category when concluding in 1: 03: 48.
All the triathletes have completed a first swim section of 750 m. Then, 20 km of cyclists over three laps with climbs to Cerro Garabitas, to finish with a 5 km race on foot. All this for a circuit that has been developed by the Casa de Campo in Madrid.
During the first bars, the test was very close, with the big favorites taking the front positions for a good part of the contest. A very powerful group in which Uxío Abuín, Iván Raña, Vicente Hernández, Ramón Ejeda and Ángel Salamanca among others circulated, has entered T2 and has proceeded to carry out the remaining 5 km of running on foot in the vicinity of the Casa de Madrid countryside.
Óscar Vicente (Cidade de Lugo Fluvial) has been climbing positions after a complicated first stretch of swimming. The triathlete born in O Rosal, has shown an excellent level making a brilliant comeback that has raised him to the top of the podium.
On the other hand, Uxío Abuín (T. Remeco Muralla Lugo) has crossed the finish line second, to 21 seconds of the winner. Abuín demonstrated an excellent level in the swim section and during the run on foot, establishing the two partial seconds in both segments. His great performance has also earned him the sub-championship in sub23 category.
Behind, Brais Canosa completed the trio of Galicians on the podium of the elite category. The coruña of the Arcade Triathlon Inforhouse, has registered a time of 1: 04: 12.
In the sub-23 category, Santa Cruz Vicente Hernández has reached the third place with a time of 1: 04: 17.
