Reinosa dresses up for the European Championships and Spain Winter Triathlon

The Cantabrian municipality, one of the indispensable enclaves of this discipline also celebrates the XXVIII edition of its mythical White Triathlon.

 

 

This Saturday 31 of January Reinosa one of the great appointments of the continental panorama with the dispute of European Winter Triathlon Championships, at the same time Spain Championship of the modality.

The more than 200 participants will travel 10 km of the race on foot through an urban circuit, eminently flat that will go through the most emblematic streets of the town. After completing the first segment will arrive one of the most arduous sections, with 24 km cyclists on asphalt that will consist of a cumulative difference of approximately 800 m, with some last 8 km very demanding. Finally, three laps of 3,1 km of cross-country skiing before crossing the finish line, passing this final sector in the Alto Campo station.

In the press conference prior to the competition this Saturday, the Russian Pavel Andreev one of the great referents of the modality, expressed his enthusiasm for competing in one of the icons of the winter triathlon, indicating that "it is a dream to participate in Reinosa". Andreev, holder of numerous continental and world titles behind him and one of the favorites to win, highlighted the level of the participants, especially highlighting the Spanish and Italian triathletes present in this continental event.

On the other hand, the current champion of Spain Egoitz Zalakain arrives at Reinosa ready to offer his "maximum level in the European Championship". Zalakain appreciates the celebration in Spain of this competition, noting that "Reinosa is a place to which I have great affection: people are special" at the same time he confessed that competing with his family and friends encouraging him was especially excited. Zalakian will be accompanied by Jon Erguin y Sebastià Catllà as Spanish representatives in the absolute test.

While Ana Casares, confessed that he arrives to the appointment "with desire". Casares, one of the regulars of this competition, commented that this test loves him, "for the environment, the town, its surroundings. I like cycling a lot ... it's a special test for me. " Next to her, she will also be present in the female elite category Yolanda Magallón.
