National training symposium for endurance sports

Topics such as fasting training, technique for triathletes and strength training in endurance sports will be discussed

 

The next November 23 of 2013 will celebrate the fifth edition of the National Symposium of training for endurance sports  in the University of Madrid.

 

 

We have interviewed the event director José Enrique Quiroga to tell us in more depth what this is Symposium

 

What is this Symposium really?

 

It is a national encounter, where both coaches and athletes interested in their performance, come from all over Spain (and some from outside) meet in a very intense educational day, in order to update on important aspects of training.

 

Throughout the day several very high level conferences are held, given by prestigious and renowned experts, touching very interesting and innovative aspects about the training of endurance sports such as triathlon, cycling, athletics, trail running ...

 

 

 

Is it open to everyone?

 

Yes, of course, no special requirement is required to attend, just have a very open mind and much desire to know new and / or different things.

 

 

 

In just five editions, this Symposium has positioned itself very clearly among the most prestigious events of this type that are held in Spain, what do you think is due?

 

Yes, it's true, in the first edition we have 47 attendees, which is not bad; and in the following, this number has been rising exponentially.

 

For this year we have the limit in 180 attendees. This is due to several things: the high quality of the presented academic content, the fantastic facilities, the good organization and the presence of several sponsors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

With what sponsors do you count this year?

 

In this edition we have Taymory, Spiuk, Skechers, Zeebra and PowerBar, which will be presented to all attendees with very good gifts.

 

 

 

You told us about the facilities, are you still betting on the European University?

 

Well, really the European University bets for us, and it is an honor that such a prestigious university is interested in hosting this event, since they are very demanding with this type of things, as it is logical, and it is absolutely indispensable that the quality of the Symposium is of a very high level.

 

It is an agreement that we are renewing year after year, and the truth is that we are very satisfied with it, since, among other things, the facilities are perfect and spectacular.

 

 

 

Year after year the quality of the Symposium goes up, what is it that you present this year?

 

Well, this is the 5 edition, but the objective is always to overcome the previous one, so the program is really interesting, with very high level conferences and great speakers, as well as two round tables that will serve to clarify concepts and try to solve doubts.

 

And as I said before, in this 5 edition we also have great sponsors who will offer very good gifts to all attendees.
