Everything ready for the Bilbao Triathlon

Agirresarobe, winner in 2013, will head the list of favorites in which Elgezabal, Cartmell, Santamaría, Gustavo Rodríguez, Cigana, Gómez Cubero, Schulz, Gaztañaga, Bugdol, Casares, Mintegi, Valiño or Estefania Gómez stand out, among other participants

In the edition of the 2014, the participating triathletes will be near 600 and around 400 people (more than a hundred volunteers) the people in charge of ensuring that the competition takes place in the best possible way. El Arenal will once again be the center of operations where the goal and transitions will be located, and where the awards ceremony will take place.

PARTICIPATION. THE MOST OPEN AND EQUAL EDITION.

The poster of participants is once again one of the strengths of the Bilbao Triathlon, both in its elite and at the popular level. In this fourth edition it is worth mentioning the large number of triathletes that arrive in Bilbao having already won other level competitions and showing that they are firm candidates to take the txapela in Biscay land.

In the men's category, the presence of the 2013 winner stands out, Aimar Agirresarobe, who completed a brilliant 2013 after finishing second in Zarautz and third in the Spanish Long Distance Championship. We can not forget about Fernando Gómez Cubero (2º in 2012 and 2013) or from Mikel Elgezabal (winner in 2011 and 2012). We can not forget either Gustavo Rodríguez, recently winner of ICAN Málaga, and Alejandro Santamaría, 2º in the Challenge of Vitoria and winner of several international titles.

The foreign representation is headed by the Scottish Fraser Cartmell, five times winner of the Ironman of Great Britain in different distances and third in Bilbao in 2012, the Italian Massimo Cigana, Italian long distance champion or Portuguese José Estrangeiro, bronze of the World in junior category or winner in the ICAN Valladolid and Castro Urdiales

In the female category the name of the triathlete of the Orbea Orca Triathlon Team stands out, Jenny Schulz, that last month of April was proclaimed Duathlon European champion. Opposite will have rivals like Estefanía Gómez o Maider Gaztañaga, who already know what it is to make a podium in Bilbao, in addition to the Polish Ewa Bugdol. There will be no take away eye either Ana Casares, winner in the Challenge of Vitoria 2013, Aida Valiño, winner one month ago of ICAN Málaga or Arrate Mintegui, 3ª in the Costa del Sol test.
