Domenico Passuello and Marina Daimlacourt prevail in the Elche Triathlon

It has probably been the hardest in its history due to the heat and the wind

 

 

Last Saturday the tenth edition of the Elche Triathlon "Arenales 113" was held where  Domenico Passuello has won the victory with a 4 time: 02: 11 followed of Víctor del Corral ends second to 3: 21 and Fraser Cartmerll in third position to 4: 27 of the winner

 

In females  Marina Daimlacourt, debutant in this distance, got the victory with a time of 4: 42: 14, followed by Ana Casares  to 7: 23 and from Gurutze Frades in 3º position with 9: 11 of delay with respect to Marina.

 

1500 athletes in addition to fighting the wind, had to face 1900 meters of swimming, followed by 88 km of cycling to finish with 21 km of running.

 

In the men's category, Pedro Miguel Reig was the best partial in swimming, demonstrating once again his qualities as a swimmer. Behind, the Portuguese Duarte, Pakillo and Cartmell. The favorites came out somewhat behind schedule, but in T1 Pasuello and Víctor Del Corral are placed in the first positions.

 

In cycling, Pasuello is placed leader, followed by Fidalgo, who maintains the position until the entry into T2 a few seconds from the Italian. Cartmel will be third in the T2 and Del Corral fourth. 

 

Once the running sector begins, the positions are adjusted, since it causes many of the participants to be affected by the difficulty of the segment, in which they climb long flights of stairs and run along the beach.

 

Although Fidalgo overtakes the Italian, Passuello holds on in second place until Fidalgo has to stop and continue walking because of problems with his feet. Del Corral traces positions and cuts time to the Italian, although he does not give up and finishes beating the test, demonstrating his enormous quality as a triathlete. Cartmell enters in the third goal.

 

Marina Damlaimcourt, demonstrated his qualities from the first segment of the test, leaving first of the water in front of Marta Jiménez and Mabel Gallardo. Gurutze Frades was fourth in the T1.

 

The section of cycling modifies the positions since a great Ana Casares marks the second best partial (first was Marina) placing third at the exit of the T2, while Gurutze Frades is second at the exit of the transition making the third best partial of bike.

 

The race section changes the positions again, because as in the men's race the girls suffer the difficulty of the route and the remarkable heat. Ana Casares highlights marking the best partial and overtaking Gurutze, who holds and enters third in the finish line. Marina Damlaimcourt was third in this segment, suffering a bit at the end of the test, but she was already ahead of the second classified, with what she had to maintain in the last kilometers to proclaim herself champion.

 

In clubs, CT Diablillos de Rivas, CT Laboratorios Sys and Club Tri-Val Valdemoro in females and the A300w, CN Prat Triatlo and CT Sys laboratories in the male category win.
