Vinuesa will host in January the first winter triathlon of Castilla y León

Vinuesa and the mountain range of Urbión will host the January 19 the first winter triathlon organized by the regional federation of this sports federation, will gather a hundred competitors, with a view to finalizing their preparation for the National to be held in Reinosa.

 

 

This test will be included in the 1st Winter Triathlon Circuit that will include most of the events held in Spain and will serve the athletes to prepare for the Spanish Championship to be held the following week in Reinosa, as the president has advanced to EFE today. of the Triathlon Federation of Castile and Leon, Amancio del Castillo.

 

"It also seeks to strengthen the area with this sport that is booming, showing athletes the options of sports tourism in the province of Soria," he said.

 

The first winter triathlon to be held in the region will start the January 19, at eight thirty in the morning, with an eight-kilometer foot race, followed by eighteen kilometers of cycling with the ascent to Santa's ski point Inés and, to finish ten kilometers of cross-country skiing in the Urbión mountain range.

 

Del Castillo has estimated that the winner of the competition will use a time close to two hours.

 

The winter triathlon is a typical sporting event in the northern part of the peninsula, requiring snow for its development.

 

The test that will be played in Vinuesa will be part of a circuit with other competitions in Aragón, Cataluña and Navarra, according to Del Castillo.

 

The competition, which will be regional in nature, has the collaboration of the municipalities of Vinuesa and Soria, the Diputación Soriana and the snow point of Santa Inés.
