The UCI confirms the "technological doping" on the bike of the Belgian Femke Van den Driessche

 

Yesterday the first one was detected "technological doping"In cycling and it was news in all the big media. It happened in the Cyclocross world championships that are being played in Belgium, by a sub participant 23 called Femke Van den Driessche according to the Belgian cycling federation.

“The UCI confirms that, following the regulations on technological fraud, that a bicycle has been set aside for further investigation in the controls carried out in the women's under-23 race of the Cyclocross World Championships. This does not affect any of the runners on the podium ”, explains the statement from the governing body of cycling.

The athlete retired in the last lap of the race, claiming a breakdown in the bike, the UCI and the Belgian Federation have contrasted that it was his bicycle. For his part the father of the athlete claimed that someone from his environment had brought the bike to the Box, and that it was true that she trained sometimes with her, but it was not intended to use it in the test.

For some time this type of "doping" has been suspected in cycling, where they have not been able to detect it in technological controls.
