1.200 triathletes will star in an ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Salou that reinforces the safety and service to the athlete

With a new cycling circuit closed to traffic, the test strengthens services to the athlete with speed points and live coverage.

 

 

This Sunday, 11 in May, 1.200 triathletes will star in a renewed edition of ISOSTAR EXTREME MAN Salou that, for the first time, presents a cyclist circuit to a single turn, totally flat and closed to traffic. A proposal designed to fly that will allow the triathlete to roll at maximum speed on an armored route, 100% sure, which will run mostly along the A7 highway heading south.

 

In the presentation of this edition, Luis Genero, general director of Win Sports, the event's organizing company, highlighted the novelties of “a test, which has established itself as a reference in Europe in medium-distance triathlon. This year, Isostar Extreme Man Salou will offer more guarantees to the participant in terms of security and services ”. In this sense, Salou will be the first competition where two outstanding services will be launched:

  • Speed ​​points. Timed stages, both in the cycling sector and in the race on foot, with a prize for the fastest and special classification.
  • Live tracking Possibility of following the participants and their evolution, through computer, mobile or tablet in www.extreme-man.com

 

In addition, he recalled that "in 2013, Frederik Van Lierde He won in Salou, before being proclaimed, at the end of the season, triathlon world champion. On this occasion, the great favorite is the international triathlete Marcel Zamora, in a sign with names of the likes of Sergi Escobar or Dolça Oller. "

 

Julien Blondin, product manager of Isostar, official partner of the circuit for the second year in a row, said that "the brand is committed to the Isostar Extreme Man middle distance circuit and we hope that this first test of the circuit will be very successful, as much or more than the last year". On the other hand, he pointed out that "Isostar, as a brand specialized in sports nutrition, will provide all the participants with Isostar products in the refreshments to guarantee the improvement of their performance in the competition".

 

The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, explained that "the City Council of Salou continues betting on the test, since it is a way of doing tourism in our city, strengthening the brand of sports tourism and maintaining economic activity before reaching the season summer".

 

On the other hand, the councilor of Sports, Felip Ortiz, was "very satisfied by the novelties of the test, which augurs great success". He also addressed the population to ask for "understanding on the issue of trafficking."

 

Special traffic device

On the occasion of the dispute of this sporting event, members of the Local Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra will be controlling and indicating the alternatives during the test, both to participants and drivers.

 

Thus, the A-7 will be closed in a southerly direction, between Hospitalet de l'Infant and Salou, between the 6: 00 and the 11: 30 hours. Given this situation, the alternatives are:

The entrance to Salou by C-14 (Reus highway) will be:

- In the Reus, Tarragona or Autopista direction
