More than 1700 young duathletes will compete in Alcobendas this weekend

More than 1700 young duathletes will face each other in Alcobendas in a championship focused on the cadet, youth and junior categories.

This event seeks to promote and care for the talent of athletes who nurture the higher categories, allowing the Spanish triathlon and duathlon to be an international benchmark.

On Saturday, April 1, the Spanish Duathlon Championship individual in the cadet, youth and junior categories, while on Sunday, April 2, the sprint distance competitions for juniors and the Spanish Duathlon Championship for Mixed Talent Relay.

In total, more than 1.700 duathletes will participate in a intense knockout race program on Saturday, April 1, and spectacular individual and mixed relays on Sunday, April 2.

The presentation of the events took place at the Alcobendas City Hall, with the participation of Aitor Retolaza, Mayor of Alcobendas; María Espín, Alcobendas City Councilor for Sports; José Hidalgo, president of the Spanish Triathlon Federation; and Francisco Soriano, president of Ecosport Triatlón Alcobendas, the club that hosts the competitions and is responsible for a large deployment of volunteers and personnel for the development of the tests.

Intense knockout race program

El Saturday April 1, in the surroundings of Parque de Andalucía, the Spanish Cadet, Youth and Junior Duathlon Championship, with several preliminary series of fifty athletes in each start.

The qualified duathletes will compete in the finals with medals on the line.

El Sunday April 2 in the morning at the Sprint distance for the CSpanish Junior Sprint Duathlon Championship, about five kilometers of running, a little more than 20 kilometers of cycling, and 2 kilometers in the last segment

The closing of the competitions will come with the Spanish Duathlon Championship for Mixed Talent Relay, in which almost 40 teams from all over Spain, made up of four duathletes (two girls and two boys), will represent the main triathlon schools in the country.

The Mixed Talent Relay is the first day of the Triathlon Club Talent League, which combines duathlon and triathlon events, and will continue in other Spanish championships in Avilés, Roquetas de Mar and Banyoles.
