Spain closes the European Multisport Triathlon Bilbao Bizkaia at the top of the medal table

Spain proved to be its strength by finishing these Bilbao Bizkaia Multisport Triathlon European Championships at the top of the medal table.

The success of this team, with all its athletes in top form along with the bonus that comes from competing at home, closed the European Championship with 9 golds, 7 silvers and 3 bronzes to add 19 medals.

In addition, his dominance was throughout each and every one of the disciplines and categories that made up this great multisport event: duathlon, cross duathlon, cross triathlon, aquathlon and medium distance triathlon.

Benito and Alberdi, a double in the queen event: Kings of the Middle Distance Triathlon

Antonio Benito got a great comeback in the Middle Distance Triathlon to hang the gold. Minutes later it was Helene Alberdi who added another gold for the Spanish delegation in an international debut with the Triarmada in style. Corachán added one more silver for the National Team.

Nicolás Regidor and Marta Romance (sub-'23) signed a great double in the duathlon. Marina Muñoz hung silver in the same category. Helena Moragas and Maite Jiménez (junior) added two more metals with a gold and a bronze in some packed streets of Bilbao.

Álvaro López and Isabel María Navarro (junior) gave Spain two new medals in the cross duathlon, in this case gold and silver respectively in Balmaseda-Enkarterri.

Historic triplet in the Cros Triathlon with Ruzafa, Viñuela and Osoro; Blacksmith, gold plating

Historically, the Triarmada took the podium in the Cros Triathlon test. Rubén Ruzafa, Kevin Tarek Viñuela and Pello Osoro (Elite) gave a recital for an unrepeatable moment for Spanish sport. Marta Borbón hung the silver (Elite). Joan Wäger (sub-'23) signed another gold for an unrepeatable day in Bermeo-Urdaibai.

The Elite Paula Herrero, gold and Cristian Fernández, silver, reaffirmed the potential of Spain in the aquathlon. Natalia Hidalgo, (sub-'23) and Julen Andueza (junior), signed two silver medals in the race disputed between Portugalete and Getxo with the imposing Bizkaia Bridge as witness.
