3.000 athletes will be at the Bilbao Bizkaia Multisport Triathlon European Championship
It will have six tests, four venues and will be held in ten days
From the day September 17 to 24 Spain will host the Multisport Triathlon European Championship.
The competitions that will bring together many of the best international triathletes fighting for world titles will bring together more than 8.000 people during the duration of the events.
6 tests in four venues: 10 days for a major sporting event
This Championship is made up of six different sports disciplines: Duathlon, Cros Duathlon, Aquathlon, Cros Triathlon, Aquabike and Middle Distance Triathlon, all of them around the triathlon.
There are four venues that host the European: Bilbao, Balmaseda-Enkarterri, Bermeo-Urdaibai and Portugalete-Getxo.
In total 10 days for a great event where an economic impact of 10 million euros is estimated.
Calendar
This is the calendar of the European Championships that will be played:
- Duathlon: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September
- Duathlon cros: Tuesday, September 20
- Triathlon cros: Thursday, September 22
- Aquathlon: Friday, September 23
- Aquabike: Saturday September 24
- Medium Distance Triathlon: Saturday September 24
8.000 people from 31 different countries
The event will bring together more than 8.000 people including athletes and companions.
The most massive test, that of the Duathlon, both in its standard and sprint modes, will feature 850 athletes and will be held in Bilbao.
The Bilbao capital will also host the tests of Medium Distance Triathlon and Aquabike where 710 and 325 registered respectively have been registered.
El Aquathlon, a test that will be held between Portugalete and Getxo, will bring together 538 triathletes, while the Cros Duathlon tests, which will be held at the Balmaseda-Enkarterri headquarters, will bring together 226 participants and the Cros Triathlon that will take place at the Bermeo -Urdaibai, will have 293 athletes.
3.000 athletes in all categories
A total of 2.942 athletes divided into all categories (Elite, Sub-'23, Junior, Paratriathlon, Age Groups and OPEN Test) will celebrate this great triathlon party where triathletes from 31 countries will be represented.
The United Kingdom, with 1.345 participants, will be the country with the highest representation, followed by France (112), Germany (102), Italy (69) and Portugal (68).
For its part, the Spanish delegation rises to 942 athletes.
