35 medals for Spanish age groups in Bilbao

These days Bilbao-Bizkaia is hosting the Multisport Championship where nearly 2.500 athletes from various countries will compete.

Spain in age groups is one of the most represented selections where 733 duathletes, between the sprint and standard categories, have formed the bulk of the Spanish expedition.

2 days of age group competitions

The Organizing Committee, formed by the Bilbao City Council, the Bizkaia Provincial Council and the Spanish Triathlon Federation, dDivided in two days the tests of the Age Groups to generate the least possible affection to the citizens of the Bilbao capital with the necessary street closures.

In this way also the citizens, the companions and visitors, could enjoy in greater depth what a test like this supposes.

The Spanish delegation, 19 medals in the sprint category

El Saturday September 17 The sprint discipline duathletes opened fire, with a first segment of 5 kilometers on foot, 20 kilometers by bike in the second segment and ending with 2.500 meters on foot before reaching the finish line.

The Spanish delegation won 19 medals (6 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze) distributed throughout the different categories:

For Sunday, September 18, it was the turn of the standard mode whose distance is 10 kilometers on foot, 40 by bicycle and 5 final kilometers on foot again before crossing the finish line.

The Spanish expedition managed 16 medals (4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze) distributed throughout the different categories.
