The Seville Triathlon reaches the registered 3500

May is the month of triathlon in the city, since the Half Triathlon of Seville is also celebrated in the Seville capital, an average distance test Ironman

 

 

The XVIII Sato Sport Club - Seville Triathlon that is celebrated on Sunday 18 de Mayo has been presented this morning at the Sato Sport Club of Santa Justa, with the presence of María del Mar Sánchez Estrella, Councilor delegate of Sports of the City of Seville; José María Merchán, president of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation; Antonio Pérez Acevedo, director of Sato Sport Club Aljarafe; Paco Chaparro, former coach of Real Betis; and Josemi Pérez, Olympic triathlete in London 2012.

 

Sevilla consolidates with this test, second of Europa FM Circuit, as one of the great references of triathlon not only in our country, but also internationally (an 15,7% of those registered are of foreign origin).

 

María del Mar Sánchez Estrella, Sports Councilor of the City Council of Seville: "The month of May is the month of triathlon in our city, and the 18 is the magic number: the 18 is the test and is the edition number 18. The Seville Triathlon is experiencing a great growth, with more than 60% of participants from outside of Seville, which also means an important growth for the city ".

 

José María Merchán, president of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation: "Very recently we had 400 participants and now we are hanging around the 3500. This is a success resulting from work for a sport like the triathlon that is positioning itself. This test is an event that excites everyone and that, by numbers, contributes a lot to the city of Seville. "

 

Antonio Pérez Acevedo, director of Sato Sport Club Aljarafe: "We have been collaborating with many sports for more than 30 years and we have seen that triathlon is in fashion and we have the indispensable means for the athlete to prepare it".

 

Paco Chaparro, former coach of Real Betis: "I've been running for years and also cycling. If I could I would do a triathlon, it's a sport that has very good characteristics ".

 

Josemi Pérez, Olympic triathlete in London 2012: "Thank Seville for the welcome it gives to this sport. Competing here is a real pleasure for us. For triathletes it is an obligation to come here, for the city and for the organization. " The own Josemi Perez is one of the great favorites to adjudge the triumph in the Park of the Alamillo.

 

This new edition of the classic Seville test will be played over three different distances with exits in waves: Olympic (1.500 meters of swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km of running), Sprint (750 m, 20 km and 5 km ), and Super Sprint (350 m, 10 km and 2,5 km). In addition, there will be teams of relays, Triathlon of Equality and Paratriathlon.
