5 triathletes represent Spain in the Triathlon World Cup in South Korea

Miriam Casillas, Carolina Routier, Tamara Gómez, David Castro and Pablo Dapena will be our “triarmada”

 

 

The last round of World Cups of ITU Triathlon lands this coming weekend in South Korea. Specific, Tongyeong, belonging to the province of South Gyeongsang, will be responsible for hosting the final stop this season with the presence of five Spanish triathletes in male and female category.

A competition that will take place on Saturday 24 in October Olympic distance with a first segment of two swimming laps (1,5 km), after which they will enter a demanding 40 km cyclist course distributed over five laps and integrated by two difficult climbs. Once the cycle segment is completed, four laps of the race will be taken on foot along a mainly flat route until reaching the final 10 km of the sector.

The five Spanish participants come to the appointment immersed in the search for valuable points. In the female category we will be represented by Miriam Casillas, who arrives after last week's bronze medal at the World Cup in Alnaya (Turkey), Carolina Routier y Tamara Gómez. Among the big rivals to beat are the Japanese Ai Ueda or Yuka Sato, the Ukrainian Yuliya Yelistratova, the Swedish Lisa Norden, the Brazilian Pamella Oliveira or the French Audrey Merle.

Female start list

While in the men's test we will have David Castro y Pablo Dapena. Before them, an exit list that includes the Russians Dmitry and Igor Polyanskiy, the Hungarian Gábor Faldum, the American Ben Kanute or the Mexican Irving Pérez.
