A new alliance between the Spanish Triathlon Federation and Ironman is born

It highlights the inclusion of the Ironman competitions in the Spanish national calendar, which will also score for the FETRI ranking

As we already anticipated yesterday with the publication of the new regulations, IRONMAN is taking steps to unify its long distance tests.

The Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) and Ironman are joining forces in a collaboration that began last season in Barcelona and which is now consolidated in a clear commitment to triathlon in Spain.

The last 11 of February, José Hidalgo, president of the FETRI; Thomas Dieckhoff, CEO of Ironman Europe, Middle East and Africa; Paul Huddle, technical director of global operations at Ironman, and Jorge Garcia, director of competitions at FETRI held a meeting to discuss the development of joint projects.

Among them, the inclusion of the Ironman competitions in the Spanish national calendar, which will also score for the FETRI ranking, also has technical and communication support. The FETRI will collaborate closely with Ironman in these new events as they come to fruition.
