Alistair Brownlee: In search of the qualification for the world championship in the IRONMAN Switzerland

The double Olympic champion, Alistair Brownlee is on the start list for the IRONMAN of Switzerland, which will be held in Thun on July 9.

Brownlee will seek his qualification for the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, which will be held in September.

This season Brownlee has had a tough season. He has been entered in several IRONMAN this season such as in South Africa, Hamburg, France and Austria, but he has not started any of them.

However, he showed that he had recovered from his injury at the PTO European Open in Ibiza, before fading slightly in the race and finishing in sixth position.

Last chance in Europe to get the Slot

The IRONMAN of Switzerland is the last race based in Europe that offers places for the IRONMAN World Championship.

Brownlee will face a demanding cycling course and several high-level rivals. However, the course in Switzerland, especially the cycling, which is described as 'hilly', should play to his advantage.

The Briton has an impressive long distance record, having He has participated in four races and has achieved three victories, with the sole exception of Kona in 2019.

His potential opponents in Switzerland include Clement mignon, and the cycling professional Cam Wurf.

However, these triathletes have already qualified for Nice, so there may be some question as to whether they will all line up in Switzerland.
