Avilés: Spanish Championships against the clock by team and relay by Felipe Gutiérrez

During two days in Avilés, in the surroundings of the Óscar Niemeyer International Cultural Center and next to the Ría de Avilés, these two tests have been disputed, the truth is that it is a privileged place, although lacking an audience that is not part of our sport. I guess people are too lazy to cross the long walkway of the magnificent Center to watch the duathletes compete.

 

 

The follow-up to see the test was complicated, you had to do a lot of laps or go to a point and not be able to see, or you decided for cycling or for the race and if you opted for both, because you only had to run from one side to other.

NFOQUE RACE TEAN AND RIVAS DIABLILLOS WIN THE COUNTERCLOCK

Intense two days lived in Avilés with the dispute of these two Championships of Spain. A lot of participation, I really do not know if it's good or bad, although the teams are delighted that there are many representatives with teams A, B, C, etc ... I think it would be good to limit the participation and not turn it into an endless number of departures with differences in the same 1 minute that makes the time trial teams come a moment that collapse the cycling circuit and more if it is done four laps.

As for the sport in the men's category, it was the NFOQUE RACE TEAM those who took the men's title and where the hundredths made a team descend from the podium after having handed out the medals and having to repeat the act, things changed in the distribution of the medals and the one with the bronze was left with the "chocolate" medal and off the podium. That is called "bad chip play".

While they were the women of the Imps from Rivas those that took the title in front of a "reborn" City of Lugo Fluvial, a team with new faces and that already lived in another time the national titles.

A total of 75 male and 29 female clubs were on the starting line of the elite event.

 

 

While the students of the Rivas Devils were the winners in the Men's and Women's category and therefore they got "the doublet". In this category, 27 male and 13 female teams participated. The only thing I do not like and what I could see and hear in some coaches is to mix cadets and children in the same category, some already "experts" and other "novices" total. These participants were sometimes doubled up by the older ones as they left after them and some were still surprised when they passed them off as motorcycles.

On the other hand a lot of participation of "second row" teams of each club, some with B or C teams or, well a little more popular participation and try to make a decent mark with respect to their "club bosses".

THE RELAYS: MONTILLA CORDOBA AND DIABLILLOS DE TIVAS SUCCEEDED THE TITLES

Sunday was the relay event, where three duathletes defended their clubs. In the masculine test surprise pleasant to win a club that opens title, the Montilla Córdoba Triathlon, Cordovan club where the "merger" of clubs have mounted a very important group that will have to speak in the national triathlon. Boys and young girls butt in this sport. Congratulations as they beat the remaining 52 teams in the men's category.

While it was the women of the Rivas Devils who stood with the title of the 33 clubs that took the start.

While in the school-age test, TriMarbella Bike Acuarena wins the victories in the men's test with a total of 29 teams and the girls from Valle de Aranguren who took the gold with a total of 18 clubs in the starting lists.

 

 

WORKGROUP

From these lines if I want to congratulate the working group of Avilés, they have proposed a dynamic test, beautiful and eager to please visitors. Likewise, the FETRI working group, which at all times was controlling a test that, due to the intensity with which it is lived, is difficult to have everything tied up.

And of course the City Council of Avilés since they bet once more for our sport, we hope to see each other in the future.
