Chronicle Championship of Spain duathlon cadet by Felipe Gutiérrez

A hopeful future: Alberto González and Ana Carvajal got the gold.

The first test of this Championship held in Soria gave us joys especially when seeing the cadets and to dispute the test not only for the quality of the participants but also for the amount of them.

I remember years ago when there were few participants and many of them were unable to finish the test. NowThe clubs work in the quarry and take good quality athletes ensuring a good future.

The distance that was run yesterday 2,5 kms / 11,8 Kms / 1,25 Kms maybe should be the last time and the same as the developments that use the bike is free and there is therefore no control of these developments, should be studied the possibility to return to the distance sprint, surely we would really pour the value of these cadets.

The victory of the malagueño Alberto González (1º 31: 05) was not so easy because a good group of "futuribles" fought with him to not easily leave him the victory that a priori everyone thought he had "in the boat" before starting. Alberto who currently runs with the Galician club of the Árcade Inforhouse Santiago and who will be our interviewee in the section "looking for a star" next Monday, showed that despite the attacks of a sensational Javier LLuch (2º 31: 07) could read Well test and win when I had to.

On the podium with them was a sensational Jaime Bonilla (3º 31: 07) that I fight in a masterly way and looking to surprise the first two and more after the accident that had the malagueño Jesus of the Val, to which we wish a speedy recovery and that at the time of writing these lines we do not know the extent of their fall.

No doubt in this category runs and very fast, that among this group of athletes there is a lot of future, guys who see triathlon as something serious and not as a simple game. Of course, when they cross the finish line, they are young people who continue to play without obsessing with training, results ... that's what's good and what they should not stop doing. The best were the following

ANA CARVAJAL, A DESIRED MEDAL

Spain Duathlon Juniro Championship in Soria

And the truth is that seeing how the cadets came out was unthinkable years ago as I said before, with strength, fighting without leaving a meter to their opponents and looking for a victory that had to be worked hard.

No doubt the queen in this category was the malagueña Ana CarvajalIt seems that work at the CAR in Madrid continues to give security and control to girls of her age. At 17 years old, he already has a great competitive maturity. She was our first interviewee in the section "Searching a star", There he told me that this year he wanted to win everything and start doing it.

Victory therefore for "chispi" Ana Carvajal that curiously his coach is the same (when he was in Malaga) than the male winner. Congratulations to Ignacio Gonzalez father of Alberto and former coach of Ana, the work is paying off.

Behind and not far away two fighters for the podium Sharon Garcia (2º 36: 36), held that place despite the Madrid attack Lucia Salafranca (3º 36: 44). The two were magnificent Ana's rivals, but they had to settle for the fight for silver and bronze.

The best ones in Soria were:
