Ansó waits for the necessary snow in the Spanish Winter Triathlon Championship

On February 18, the Ansó Valley will become the scene of the Spanish Winter Triathlon Championship.

However, the celebration of this winter sporting event is currently in suspense due to the lack of snow in the region, a key factor for the realization of the cross-country ski segment.

The championship is also the Aragonese regional championship of the modality.

The Spanish Triathlon Federation, in collaboration with the Aragonese Triathlon Federation and the Mayéncos Pyrenees Club, maintains hope for a favorable change in meteorological conditions that will allow the accumulation of the necessary snow.

However, they are prepared to implement alternatives in case the minimum conditions for cross-country skiing are not met.

In case of not being able to do the cross-country skiing segment, it is planned to replace it with an additional foot race, which will take place in the same Linza Nordic Space, following the initial walking tour through the town of Ansó and a demanding mountain bike circuit to the cross-country ski trail area.

This measure, although it modifies the traditional format of the winter triathlon, does not alter the validity of the titles of Champion of Spain, as well as Aragon for federated athletes in this community.

Pello Osoro y Ainara Oronoz, winners of the first race of the season in Reinosa-Alto Campoo, are just some of the notable names in a list of athletes determined to face the unique challenges that the winter triathlon offers.

There are no previous results.
